Shoes Made in EU: The European Shoemaker in the frames of the Erasmus+ Programme

Implementation period: 1 January 2015 – 31 October 2017

The project ‘SHOES MADE in EU: The European Shoemaker’ is carried out in the frames of the ERASMUS+ Programme Vocational Education Training, Action 2. Strategic Partnerships.

The Chamber’s project partners are: the Institute of Leather Industry (Poland), the Marshal Office of the Lodz Voivodship (Poland), European Confederation of the Footwear Industry CEC (Belgium), Centro Tecnológico do Calçado de Portugal (Portugal), ISC International Shoe Competence Center Pirmasens (Germany), CrystalClearSoft Anonymos Etaireia Parochis Ypiresion Logismikou (Greece) and Eurocrea Merchant Srl (Italy).

The idea behind the project is to strengthen vocational education training in the footwear sector by developing a new curriculum compliant with the EU standards and facilitating the finding of employment in the sector. The project is addressed at people interested in pursuing the profession of a shoemaker, companies in the Small and Medium Sized Enterprise sector, educational institutions, and industry associations.

The main goals to be accomplished:

– shoemaker handbook compliant with the EU requirements

– theoretical training via an e-learning platform

– practical training at a work station

– guides for entrepreneurs interested in raising their personnel qualifications
